Configuration identification is one of the four principle elements of configuration management. Beginning with the definition and analysis of configuration identification, this paper presents the brand-new configuration identification method, combined with problems and critical issues which happened in civil airplane whole-life-cycle configuration identification. The method is analyzed deeply in the advantages of the project application.
